Hupomeno Defined: Greek, verb -- meno, "to abide," is rendered "to endure" in the KJV of John 6:27 and 1 Pet. 1:25 (RV, "abideth"); Heb. 10:34, KJV, "enduring (substance)," RV, "abiding."; hupomeno, a strengthened form of meno, denotes "to abide under, to bear up courageously" (under suffering), Matt. 10:22; 24:13; Mark 13:13; Rom. 12:12, translated "patient"; 1 Cor. 13:7; 2 Tim. 2:10,12 (KJV, "suffer"); Heb. 10:32; 12:2-3,7; Jas. 1:12; 5:11; 1 Pet. 2:20, "ye shall take it patiently." For me personally, it means when going through trials and tribulations, I choose to bear up courageously under the watchful, loving care of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

✔✔I can do this thing today!!!

THAT is going to become my "go to" statement!! I have been struggling for almost a year now. This past Saturday when I stepped on the scales and realized that I have now gained back half of what I had lost between December 2009 and December 2010, I thought "something has to STOP."

I’m basically staring December 2011 in the face and I do NOT want to be any closer to where I was in December 2009. Therefore, something has to STOP!!!

Actually, something must START!!!

I must START planning.
I must START believing in myself again.
I must START putting me first again.
I must START preparing my meals.
I must START believing in myself again.
I must START cooking at home and not eating out.
I must START not only tracking, but figuring the PointsPlus amounts.
I must START going back to the Y at least 2-3 times a week.
I must START doing some form of exercise daily!!
I must START drinking more water and less Diet Mountain Dew.
I must START believing in myself again.
I must START fighting for my life again.
I must START “doing this thing.”
I must START refusing all excuses.
I must START being accountable to self.
I must START facing reality and being honest about this reality.
I must START blogging more consistently.
I must START working the program because the program works!!
I must START resisting food temptations.
I must START putting food in its proper place.
I must START not only tracking, but figuring the PointsPlus amounts.
I must START going back to the Y at least 2-3 times a week.
I must START doing what I know I need to be doing.
I must START believing in myself again.
I must START choosing to be motivated.
I must START not only tracking, but figuring the PointsPlus amounts.
I must START cooking at home and not eating out.
I must START drinking more water and less Diet Mountain Dew.
I must START going back to the Y at least 2-3 times a week.
I must START taking care of myself.
I must START being excited again about my new healthier choices.
I must START working the program because the program works!!

(And, no, there are no duplicates on that list. Just some of the things must be done over and over and over in order to succeed.)

IF I want to enjoy life, I really have no other choice………….. I must START doing what I know to do to move myself toward a healthier, mobile, active life.

OH, and I must START getting more sleep each night. I’ve read article after article about how sleep is necessary for your body and metabolism to work for you instead of against you.

Just like the journey of a thousand miles begins with packing your bags, putting gas in the car, mapping out your journey or updating your GPS, loading the car, cranking the car, pressing the accelerator, and moving forward one mile at a time………….so does the journey of weight loss.

I must START my weight loss journey again by planning, preparing and implementing, and losing one pound at a time.

That really is my only choice. It’s a good choice. It is a choice that I know I can make. I have done it before and I can do it again.

So, Cynthia, I CAN DO THIS THING TODAY!!!! Yes, YES I CAN!!! But...........I must START!!!

I will recommit again with you!!! It is a choice and it is a choice only I can make for myself and you can make for yourself but ultimately, step by step, bite by bite, it is a choice! We can do this thing!

Well, I saw and started to comment on the duplications. I was going to share with you that you might want to consider the "why" behind the duplications.... and ponder that and pray over that. It sort of goes in with the whole "just start" theme, too. You, like me ... we can find a full list of things we need to do to improve. But here's the thing... pick one of those "first steps" and start to do it in the midst of the other things you want to do. Then add something else. Of course you know this .... and it is so easy for me to say sitting on THIS side of the computer. So then, know I fight the same things. I NEED to... I SHOULD... I WANT to.... so what is holding me up? Like you said... it starts with just taking one small step sometimes. Maybe one of the duplicates should be your first step. Maybe not. But I am still on the journey with ya, sistah! You WILL do this. :)
