Hupomeno Defined: Greek, verb -- meno, "to abide," is rendered "to endure" in the KJV of John 6:27 and 1 Pet. 1:25 (RV, "abideth"); Heb. 10:34, KJV, "enduring (substance)," RV, "abiding."; hupomeno, a strengthened form of meno, denotes "to abide under, to bear up courageously" (under suffering), Matt. 10:22; 24:13; Mark 13:13; Rom. 12:12, translated "patient"; 1 Cor. 13:7; 2 Tim. 2:10,12 (KJV, "suffer"); Heb. 10:32; 12:2-3,7; Jas. 1:12; 5:11; 1 Pet. 2:20, "ye shall take it patiently." For me personally, it means when going through trials and tribulations, I choose to bear up courageously under the watchful, loving care of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Experience is a hard teacher!!!

I just saw this statement posted by one of my heroes on the WW message board: wannaliveforhim!!!
Experience is a hard teacher, for she gives the test FIRST, and the lessons afterward.
So how many times do I have to have the test before I will learn the lesson?? Apparently at least one more time. UUUGGGHHHH!!!
But, am I tired enough to make the choices I need to make in order to change things??? In my heart and with my voice I say YES!!!! But, with my actions, I say, NO.

I "know" this particular tired. Actually greeted it today in a few areas. And I don't LIKE this "tired". You know, I thought today how I can even choose to be tired or not. I should have thought of you and sent you a note... but I just thought about how even if I have tried 5,000 times.... the 5,0010th may be the winner. Tired and Tried have the same letters.... wonder what we could do with that? Anyhow..... I do understand. Well, from my own perspective anyhow..... and know that I do. We can give ourselves a few minutes to rest in the state of tired... but then, girl... we have got to pick it up and do what worked before and keep moving... keep doing... keep making good choices.

We Can do this, you know? The question is.... what will make us uncomfortable enough to try one more time (or ten more times)... until we get it. Let's do this. Think of how wonderful we will feel to go on a trip to the beach and just enjoy the sun and surf and not worry so much about walking, getting in and out of cars, what to wear..... etc. That will be a treat we will treat ourselves to..... when we are 50 pounds from goal.... :)

Cynthia... you are SO dear my friend!! I completely understand & KNOW what you are experiencing, & what you are feeling-wow, do I ever!! It is THAT very feeling, of being SICK & TIRED of being 'sick & tired' in every single possible way imaginable, that motivated me to finally DO something 'different' in order to stop the madness!!

You've heard the definition of insanity, right? It's doing the same thing over & over, but expecting different results! Well, that my friend was ME to the very 'T' before my journey!! WANTING to change-WANTING to lose weight- WANTING to feel better- WANTING to change direction...

And yet, I was doing the same things- over & over, & somehow, I expected different results?? I overate, made horrible decisions in regards to food, lack of exercise, etc... & yet, I somehow hoped I was going to feel 'better' about everything?!

Now, may I ask you in all loving kindness-what are YOU willing to change in your life, to STOP the madness?? What are YOU willing to DO in your life, to stop feeling tired??

If we want something different from what we've got- we've GOT to also DO something 'different' in order to see change and get it!!

And the thing is- it's NOT a once and one act I'm talking about. It's ongoing.... It's DAILY... It's even minute by minute at times... but dear, it is FINALLY accepting that what we're doing is NOT enough to change things for the better if we're NOT seeing the desired changes we are wanting in our lives!

It's finding out that we are TRULY, so much stronger than we ever dreamed we could be! It's believing in ourselves, and what we CAN be, even when everyone else around us is betting against us! It's being brave enough to make those changes and choices that WILL impact our lives for the BETTER... not just for a while, but for a lifetime!!

I know you can do it... I believe in you!! Now, tell me that YOU believe it too!! {{HUGS}}
