Hupomeno Defined: Greek, verb -- meno, "to abide," is rendered "to endure" in the KJV of John 6:27 and 1 Pet. 1:25 (RV, "abideth"); Heb. 10:34, KJV, "enduring (substance)," RV, "abiding."; hupomeno, a strengthened form of meno, denotes "to abide under, to bear up courageously" (under suffering), Matt. 10:22; 24:13; Mark 13:13; Rom. 12:12, translated "patient"; 1 Cor. 13:7; 2 Tim. 2:10,12 (KJV, "suffer"); Heb. 10:32; 12:2-3,7; Jas. 1:12; 5:11; 1 Pet. 2:20, "ye shall take it patiently." For me personally, it means when going through trials and tribulations, I choose to bear up courageously under the watchful, loving care of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

July Vacation Days Allow LOTS of Pool Time.....

So, I just thought the last entry was my final “catching you up” entry……..

I took several vacation days the week of July 4th and enjoyed 2-3 hours in the pool each of those days. I spent more than 12 hours in the pool over the four days I was off. Needless to say, I was rather excited about weighing-in that week.

Well, well, well…………..gained 2.8 pounds. Good grief!!!! What is up with that. Yes, I earned around 60 activity points and only ate around 10 more than my daily allotment. But a gain????? Well, how frustrating!!!

Frustrating until………………..the next morning when I got up and dressed. I had ordered some smaller-sized clothes and had received them a couple of weeks earlier. I tried them on when I got them. I could get them on, but they were snug…….too snug for me to wear. I reached for one of those tops and slipped it over my head. COOL, VERY COOL!!!! It went on quite nicely and had a little “breathing” room. Soooooooooooooooo, although the scales didn’t allow a celebration after all of those hours in the pool; I definitely had a non-scale victory and celebration as I left home that morning in one of my new smaller size tops.

Here are a couple of progression pictures. These were taken when I had lost 16lbs and 52lbs. I haven’t found an official “before” picture. Oh, and these are not my new smaller clothes in the 52lbs picture. I had the clothes when these were taken, but they were too snug. Even though my weight hasn’t changed in these last several weeks; my body size/shape has. Oh, part 2, these pictures were taken with two different camera and apparently much different lighting. That's why my hair looks so gray in the more recent picture. I haven't truly gone that gray in these few months.

Choices!! Would I choose again to take a week of vacation and spend lots of time in the pool after a gain on the scales this week. Absolutely!! Yes, I would. I have made the choice to include exercise this time on my weight loss journey. That is not a choice that was made lightly. It is not a choice that I regret making. I am choosing to include exercise in my quest to a healthier me. The choice is mine!!
