I had another week with a loss. YIPPIE!!!! I lost another 1.8 pounds for a total of 56. After being sick with a stomach virus this week and not able to eat all of my points for two days, I was hoping for a bigger loss. However, as we know, not eating seems to be counter-productive to weight loss. Go figure!
I finally found a picture that can be my official "before" picture. It is only a face shot but I'm glad I found it. I'm pretty sure that I will not find a full body shot "before." Sometimes when the scales seem to be moving so slow and discouragement sets in, it is great to see on paper the difference in how you look. I sent my pictures to a local store to be printed. When I went to pick them up, the cashier said, "So, you're the one who's lost all that weight?!!" I said, "Yep, that's me." She said, "Congratulations and YOU GO GIRL!!"
The last few weeks in class we've been discussing fruits and veggies. We've had a homework assignment each week. It's been fun. The first week, we were to make sure we ate at least 5 servings of fruits and veggies each day. Then, the second week, we were to focus on getting in at least three different colors of fruits and veggies each day. This week, our assignment is to try a fruit or veggie that we don't normally eat. My plan is to try blueberries and cherry tomatoes. Our leader is the greatest!! She gave us a paper plate the first week and had us document our weekly assignments on the plate. Each week that we bring our plate back to class, we write our name on a piece of paper and put it in the bucket. She'll draw out a name at the end of this emphasis and give a prize. It has been fun having these assignments and seeing how differently people have documented their assignments. Here is what my plate looks like after two weeks.Tonight, my choice includes drinking more water to avoid overheating/dehydration and following through on our assignment to eat something that we’ve not eaten before…….or at least, something we don’t eat on a regular basis. I’m making the choice to try again to like blueberries and grape tomatoes. To be perfectly honest with you, I’m a bit apprehensive about these choices. But, the choice was mine to make those choices. I accept full responsibility. Yep, the choice is mine!!!
